We Held a Briefing Session on “JAI-Trust: A Project to Establish Safety and Security Benchmarks for Generative AI in Japan” on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Nearly 500 people attended the event, including representatives from related companies, research institutions, and government agencies, as well as general participants and online attendees. The event shared efforts toward building a common platform for evaluating the safety and security of generative AI in Japan, and discussed future directions and challenges.

Overview

The “JAI-Trust” project aims to develop benchmarks and establish evaluation methods that will contribute to ensuring the reliability of generative AI in Japan. This event was held to widely share an overview of the “JAI-Trust” project and its latest developments, as well as to promote shared understanding and deepen discussions among stakeholders. It provided an opportunity for a wide range of participants interested in the safety and security of generative AI to deepen their understanding of the significance and content of this project.
